Son Of Montjeu A Timely Gain For Queensland

Thursday, 13th July 2017

With Australia's breeders and owners starting to turn back decades of one-eyed focus on juvenile and sprint racing to chase the fortune on offer for Cups races, the timing is perfect for Queensland's Raheen Stud to be the new home for Gr1 AJC Derby winner Nom du Jeu. Impeccably bred, being by Coolmore's champion stallion Montjeu out of dual Gr1-winning champion race mare Prized Gem, Nom du Jeu lived up to his pedigree with four Gr1 finishes that contributed to earnings of just under $2 million for his Queensland owner-breeders. Already represented by a swathe of city class horses that include stakes-performers and current 6-time winner of over $300,000, Liapari, Nom du Jeu is the only son of Montjeu at stud in Queensland. He will stand for an enticing fee of $3,300.
