Force ready to fly at Rosehill

Raheen Stud graduate Atomic Force has thrived since returning from Melbourne and trainer Darren Smith has opted to run him in the Turner Freeman Hcp (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Atomic Force was a G1 winner of The Galaxy at Randwick during the autumn carnival and would not have been out of place in the G2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington.

But Smith pulled the pin on Atomic Force’s spring campaign following his disappointing sixth in the G1 Manikato Stakes won by Sepoy.  “He had a long campaign so we brought him home,” Smith said.  “But the horse did so well we decided to give him another run.

“We have nominated him for the Hong Kong International Sprint next month and we’re hoping he might get an invitation.”

Atomic Force (6g Danehill Dancer – Show of Force by Luskin Star) will carry top weight of 61kg and Smith has booked in-form jockey Jim Cassidy.  “I don’t think the weight will be a problem if the horse is right,” Smith said.  “He’s a strong horse.”

Atomic Force was sold for $50,000 through the Raheen Stud draft at the 2007 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  He is one of five winners produced by the former top class Luskin Star filly Show of Force.  The dam was placed in a G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes and G3 Sweet Embrace Stakes.
